Response about the Graphic Novel By Mehryar Zahed

1)What did you like about creating your own graphic novel? What did you like the least?My favorite thing about creating this graphic novel was the fact that I was able to transform a picture taken for another reason and create a story line behind it. I had a picture of me sleeping when I had gotten a bump on my four head in the summer, I was able to make that picture become a part of my graphic novel by adding in a speech bubble. I was able to create what ever I wanted with my imagination. What I didn’t like was how I had to resize all the photos every single time. The comic strip template had a certain size and my photo had to suit that size. It was a hassle because I had to form everything to suit that template. Another thing I didn’t like was the speech bubbles and how they sometimes covered something in the picture. Even if I moved it around ,it would still cover something that may be important and that got kind of annoying.
2)If you could do this assignment again or differently, what would you change and why?If I could do this assignment again I would probably try and use a template that had less comic strips or sections on it. It got quite hard to fill up every single scene and put in new ideas. Also instead of putting speech bubbles for every single scene I would just put in the text box. It was unnecessary to make every single scene have a speech bubble within it. I would also try and make a proper story line with more ideas in it. I would prefer to make it more broad instead of having it based on one topic. If you look at other graphic novels that were made in the past they have a broad story line instead of being focused one single topic. My graphic novel was based one thing and that was getting shoes ,so next time I would try and make it a tiny bit more broad ,so it would be a lot easier to make.
3)How does this type of assignment fit or not fit into your learning preference?I would say that it does contribute to my learning preference by teaching me how to create a graphic novel. Since we were learning about them we were able to add in our own idea of what a graphic novel really was. It helped us make that effect and learn how they are made. I would say it did not fit in because we made our own storylines and created it the way we wanted. I feel like I didn’t learn that much from this because you can just read a graphic novel and know how its made and what the platform is.
4)If you would give someone tips or pointers about this project ,what would you tell them and why?If I were to give someone tips about this project I would first tell them to make sure they have a proper story line created as a backbone. Do not jump into the project and work on it as you go. Plan it out first because if you don’t it will get you stuck. Also try and create a script but you will end up modifying it when you transfer it into the speech bubble. You need to make sure that everything makes sense. Also If you want to add in any pictures make sure to be creative with the picture. If you have a picture of someone running randomly ,you can somehow use that picture and make it become related to your graphic novel. That’s was cool about it.

Point Of View, Diction, Syntax

                The writing style of 300 is very unique for a graphic novel. It is so simple but yet it is very informative at the same time. The speech bubbles go anywhere from 3 words to almost a mini paragraph long. In this journal entry it will explain the Point of view, Diction, Syntax.

                In 300 the story is explained through different people’s point of view. The narrator usually describes the scenes but then the characters take over until the next new scene that comes up. The narrator is actually the Capitan Dilios so it is through an omniscient view. There is a more historic diction in the writing style. That is because they reference allot of places in Greece. They also speak about the countries they went through to get to Greece. The syntax would be more long and descriptive. When King Leonidas would speak about killing someone he would describe how he did it. This made the syntax become real descriptive. The diction was also not all so historic they did not speak like Shakespeare times with thy and thou. It was written how a regular graphic novel would be except they made many references to the countries and continents.

                In all the writing style and point of view of this book was done well and easily readable.

              The graphic novel 300 by Frank Miller is defiantly one of my favourite graphic novels of all time. The way it’s presented is definitely unique and since it’s based on history the fact that the author was able to make it interesting was defiantly a good thing. There were many ups and downs to this book which i will explain in this journal entry.

                First I would like to mention that the way the graphic novel was written was very good. It was easy to read and understand, there were not big words to throw you off and all the characters that spoke made sense when they were speaking. You didn’t have to think over what he characters had said. It was easily understandable. The only negative about the writing I would say is some of what they wrote was a little bit too much .They tried to cram allot into one speech bubble at times. It was a little bit much to take in but still easy to understand. 

                   Secondly the illustration was amazing it was drawn so descriptively. One of my favourite scenes was when one of the warriors was killed and an arrow was shown going though his body making his body to stand up straight. It was really graphic and detailed. Every picture told a story. You didn’t even need the words, just by looking at the pictures you could tell what that section was about.

                 Thirdly the only thing that I personally didn’t like was how the Persians were portrayed in this story. Even though this was based on a true event, not everything was true and realistic. It made Persians look like barbarians, as reading it I felt like Frank Miller had some anger within him towards and just let it all out on this graphic novel. But then again it’s just a story and any author just wants to make their product sell, so it’s nothing personal. In the end it was still a great read other then the Persians being animals i loved the graphic novel.

                In my conclusion I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in graphic novels. It’s a easy read and it’s great for people who are new to graphic novels. It covers everything a graphic novel should have.

           This graphic novel is very well illustrated and is really detailed. Although some characters may look the same their all still well illustrated. Since this graphic novel does not have many pages or writing they use the pictures and illustration as way to help tell the story.
          The design and color is all really alike. The characters are drawn with more dark colors but the color red stands out the most. When blood is splattered it strands out more than any other color . That is because all the other colors are more of shades and dark colors so they just blend in more. Lines are a used a lot on the warriors body to show their abs and it is also on their capes. Their weapons also have lines all around them that connect to create a design. The characters all have a real different shape. The monsters are more round and bulky while the warriors would be more thick but very well built. These shapes help us see what the character that we are seeing is capable of. The direction is also makes a huge difference. A perfect example is when the warriors are about to fight ,one side is point their arrows to the opposing side. It draws the readers attention to the middle and then when you look down you see they are all fighting in that same place the arrows were directed to. The direction is well directed because usually what the author makes the characters in a way point their weapon or put a symbol in a area to make you look there. ,he makes a way of direction to draw your attention to that area. The size changes from each template of the page. The smaller boxes represent a small scene or a minor situation in the story. But huge or full page sections are usually for the battle scenes or fights and major conflicts. The color and value is more of a dark shades with mainly grey ,black and a golden colors used. The only color they make stand out the most is the color red. It stands out on the capes of the warriors and the blood.
               Over all the illustration and visual aspect of this graphic novel is very well illustrated. When reading you can easily pick out the more big situations from the small situations and you can also see that the color red is specifically meant to stand out. You could just look at the picturers and be able to know what they were trying to say. This was very well made.

A Scene Of The Climax From The Movie



                    300 has a real good plot development. When reading the graphic novel you can literally pick out all the points in the story from the exposition to the resolution. You can see the key actions that set off every section for the plot.
From the start of the graphic novel you see all of the Spartan’s training with each other. It then gets into a scene where the men are gathered speaking about King Leonidas and how he became the man he is. It gives a brief background on his life and the story of Sparta. That is the exposition because that is how the story starts off. It notifies the reader of why he is the leader and why he was chosen for that duty. The rising action would be when the Persian messenger came about with a message for them. The message was to quietly surrender. Kind Leonidas did not like that so he sent the Persian down the well for eternity. That set off the war so all men had to be ready and suited up to go fight for their loved ones and for Sparta. The climax of the story is the battle itself. For days they fought each other. The Spartans would be winning the battle because of how much Persians they killed with the little amount of men that they had. For days they camped around the gates of Greece waiting for the Persians to come in with their new army. Eventually it went on till the numbers got bigger and the warriors got more violent. The falling action would be when the Spartans realized the were way to out numbered for their battle. Eventually they were all killed and King Leonidas was murdered in the end along with his fellow men. The resolution is when King Leonidas’s main capitan ,Capital Dilos was telling the story back home to the other warriors and being able to gather a next 10,000 men and now taking them to go fight for victory once again. Basically the Spartans didn’t win the fight but they won the war because of how much Persians they had killed in the long run.
This graphic novel did a great job of splitting the story up into chapters where you can see how the plot develops. The chapter goes onto different sections of a regular plot (exposition ,rising action ,ect). It was a real easy and understandable read.

         The story of 300 is a story that has been modified by author Frank Miller into one of the greatest graphic novels of all time. The graphic novel is well written and very well illustrated ,when reading you have many visuals to look at that help tell the story. Its an interesting story with many different characters in it. Its a graphic novel like no other. I will describe the setting and characters in this response.
         The story of 300 is set to take place late 480 B.C. The book itself has many different settings from Greece to Persia. But the main spot where all the battles had happened  was at the gates of Greece in Thermopylae. Where the story took place has a huge impact on the plot because where the battle happened was right where the Persians were trying to enter and take over. But the Spartans did not allow for that to happen. The stopped them in their tracks before they were able to get past and run through Thermopylae. A more violent and dark mood is set because of the setting. That is because Thermopylae is a very rocky and wooded area. Its basically a jungle gym for violence. There is a huge cliff where people can fall off and land in the water or rocks. It gives the story a more violent theme because of it. When looking at the setting you see how dangerous it looks and how unsafe it is. There is no where to hide and cliffs everywhere ,so it makes the more violent ,dark theme come about.
       The characters are more dynamic and every single one is different than the other. The main character

King Leonidas is a more ruthless and self driven character. He plays many roles ,such as a warrior ,father and a leader . He sticks to all parts and does them all properly. Then there is Xerxes ,the Persians leader. He is a cold blooded and blood driven man. He does not care for nothing but victory and will stop at nothing to get it.  The characters are all different in many ways from body shape to personality. You can easily pick out who is who. These characters are all developed mainly through their actions. For King Leonidas you get to see the story of how he turned into one of the greatest warriors of all time. The rest of the characters you don't really get to see as much but you see how they fight for their country. Its mainly their actions that show you who they are. That is how we get to see how their developed. Almost every character has a moment to show what they are capable of in the story. So their appearance is also another way that their developed.

The protagonist of this story is King Leonidas because it explains his life the most. We see how he grew up and how he leads all the Spartans to victory in the end. The Antagonist would be Xerxes because he is set to go against what ever the king does and throw him down from his power. Both men have a good army behind them as well. King Leonidas had the Spartan Army of 300 and Xerxes has the Persian army of the millions.

               The settings and characters are a huge part of the plot because they both have a huge part to the plot. Each character being different makes the story a better read. The fact that the setting is real open and dangerous makes a more violent graphic novel .In all their both perfect for this story.

 

Back Home

Lil Wayne has finally been released from Rikers Island state prison and has already gone back to his old routine lifestyle. But what i find very weird is that he has gotten a 36 month probation that he is not allowed to do any drugs or drink alcohol. He is to have zero alcohol level at all times. It does not make sense because the night he got out i heard on the radio that he has rented out an entire strip club. For him and his closest friends and has filled it up with all the alcohol you can think of. Its weird because its being broad casted so freely like that. Also he preformed at a concert two days after his release with his Drake and after finishing the song "Miss Me" he made the comment saying " I am back from my vacation." Which just goes to show he probably didn't even take prison that serious. It must actually be great to be famous. I know if i went to prison the last thing i would refer to it as would be a vacation.

Since this week I'm posting about unbelievable things i thought i would share this. One of my favourite artist of all time Kid Cudi was caught leaving a Halloween party drunk out of his mind. It was so bad it got to a point where he was all over the floor and not moving. His body guard had to pick him up and throw his body into the car and drive off. Even though he is a celeb and its kinda expected it still shouldn't of been like that. I consider him one of my favourite artists and seeing him like that was really weird. I didn't think he would of gotten to a point where he cannot even walk. But then he is one of those artists who abuses drugs so harshly. Watching videos like this makes me want to never do any drugs or get drunk. It just looks embarrassing on his part. Also his new album "Man On The Moon :Part Two" is releasing soon. If anything he should not be setting that image out there for himself. We seen him do drugs in his music videos ,but never seen him so wasted like that before.

One song made millions of dollars over a real story. I still to this day cannot believe that Antoine Dodson has become so famous. The truth is there is nothing funny about a woman being raped (which is what the offender was trying to do) but a couple of teens took what he had said on the news and turned it into a song. Everything fell into place perfectly and he became a over night star. The video has more than 25 million views and has been viewed world wide.He now has a manager, a talent scout, photographer and lawyer all for a song. His song went onto Billboards top 100 and itunes went to first spot. Luckily for him and his family he was able to help all his family leave the projects and be put into a more safer home for them all to live. He has told the media that the intruder has still not been found and that he is still working on finding him.  They have been searching all over and still have the hopes of finding him. As for Dodson and his family he has used social networking to its full potential creating websites to donate to his family and get their life going. It goes to show how much power the Internet really has.

Where does it all go? We are always paying towards kids in poverty ,giving them our clothes and what not. But the thing is we never see what happens after. I feel as if when ever i donate something it never reaches a child or family. If you look at Hati ,after the disaster  they were given more money than they had from before the disaster. But the country is still in a horrible state. I feel as if the money and items don't ever go to the people in need. When i was younger i used to always give my old clothes to the salvation army. I sometimes would even throw in my toys i wouldn't play with. I then realized a few years ago that all the items i donated go into a store and are resold . So i stooped that right away. I want to help others in need and give them what they cannot regularly have ,not have it go into a store and be sold again. My question is we actually help others in need or is there some theft going on with these companies who claim to be giving it all back to the needy?

Nike Sb has a very cool concept that it has with the shoes which is to release shoes that are related to recent events ,people ,landmarks and more. They also have a pack that contains shoes in different sizes from high ,mid and low cut shoes. They make them with differenent characters for each shoe to relate to. The shoes are usualy sold seperatly but they all have a high value together. A well known pack is the 3 Bears pack. In the High Dunk it is  the Pappa Bear ,Mid is Momma Bear and Low is the Cub. The colors really stand out on the shoe and they are also covered in fun from the toe to the heel. Personally i think the mid is the best looking one. Another pack is the heros and villains pack. In the back they have the high venoms ,Mid Spidermans (which i own) and the Mid Batmans. This pack is also cool because when looking at the shoe it is very easy to spot out what character goes with what shoe. My last favourite pack is the Fallen Heros pack. They all have different styles and sizes but there is the Pee-wee hermans ,milli vanillis ,mc hammers and the  Vanilla Ice. This pack is probaly the one that is least interesting because all the shoes are plain and dont stand out as much. The bears pack would probaly be my favourite one.

February 2005 was the day that the Nike Sb New York Pigeons were released in One Nike boutique shop in New York City. The shoe was set out to be released for 1 month with 20 pairs every single day being released till they ran out. The first day that the shoe went to be sold over 1000 people had shown up in line to be among the first to by the shoes. Eventually the shoes were released and when people found out that only 20 people were able to purchase them a riot began. It got so crazy that police had to get called in and tear gas was used. Eventually when the smoke cleared up and people ran away they had found hundreds of weapons in ally ways and garbage cans. People were planning on robbing who ever go the shoe. So for the rest of the month when ever a customer purchased the shoe they were escorted home in a taxi cab with a cop car in front for the customers safety. The shoe now is worth $1200 and at the time that they were being sold they were worth $200-$300. There was also another shoe known as Nike Sb Paris and they are even more rare except they were only released in Paris the shoe is now worth $5000 or more and value is still going up. Nike sneakers heads are serious for their shoes.

The worlds most expensive Nike costs about 50,000 dollars and only one person in the world owns them. Rapper  "Big-Boi" was given these shoes as a gift. He was given the shoe in 2007 by Solitaire kicks which is now a shoe company those puts jewelry onto your shoes. The Nike check mark is full of diamonds and around the check mark is plated with 11 karat gold surrounding the check. The stitching in the shoe also has diamond studs placed onto it. The shoe is one of a kind and it is part of the air force one series.  They are hoping on starting a new trend with people "Icing" out their shoes. Unfortunately this started in 2007 and it hasn't been popular. Its a pretty stupid idea because people get robbed for shoes they wear as it is. Adding diamonds and gold to it ,is just screaming come rob me. Personally i would never do that to a shoe because i would then never want to wear them anywhere. If someone steps on them it would turn into a problem so its probably a good thing that these haven't become so popular.

Back To The Future

The Shoe Its self and Concept

With a push of a button Marty Mcflys shoes would tie up in a second and he would be good to go. Personally that would be my dream and it looks like Nike will soon be making that dream come true. They have started working on that exact shoe and it will be able to lace its self up just like that. Rumors have said that by 2015 the shoe should be all ready to be sold. The shoe will have wires running through it that are connected to a switch. With a push of a button the shoe will then lace fully up and be tight as if you had done it yourself. Nike has already released shoes that are based on Back To The Future part 2 but they are only regular basketball shoes and do not lace up or anything. Many sneaker heads all around the world have been waiting for this to happen. It will change the way people put on their shoes forever! It even will cut down time on sitting there and having to lace up the shoe. But hopefully Nike doesn't rush this idea and takes their time on it. The shoe will probably be very expensive and very limited but I'm sure they will go flying off the shelves the second their released.

Is It Fair?

In New York a man named  Alan Newton was wrongfully convicted for 21 years. He lost 21 years of his life in prison and is now being released and being awarded 18.6 million dollars. DNA test shown that he was actually not guilty for the crime. The only problem is that the city now does not want to pay him the 18.6 million dollars. I do not think that it is fair at all. First of all they took 21 years of his life and he will never get it back again. The 18.6 million dollars still will not replace those years of his life. It should only be fair that he does get the money. Losing years in your life is a horrible thing and on top of that all the pshycolgical trauma he must be going through. Allot of people come out of prison a different person. The amount of time that he did must have changed him for sure. In my opinion the money should be given to him without a doubt.

Canada has recently become allot more "allowing"on their new law adjustments. Prostitution is now legal for women or men to do. They are able to call the police for help if they have a customer that is being more force full. They are allowed to go ahead and stand on the side of the road and basically sell them self. In my opinion i think that it is truly very stupid for someone to do that. First of all the country has a huge problem with people not paying taxes . Mostly people who make good money  get taxed allot. Does that mean that prostitutes will now get taxed as well? From a recent T.V show i watch on the Internet called "What I once Was" it showed a girl who was once a prostitute and she used to charge $150 per half an hour. Men did pay and she would make tons of money from this. Basically the law is just letting them get away with all this money by just selling their body. They are not taxed or nothing. I find it very stupid that they are NOW going to contact Craigslist about their prostitution ads to be removed. Why didn't they take action when this was illegal to do? Now that its legal they want it removed. . This is actually very stupid and unfair for people who actually work hard every single day. While all they have to do is open their legs for one hour and make $300. Who knows how much could be made in a day. The law should not have been changed.

Students let free after 3 hours of wait

Recently in our local community there was a incident with a boy in grade 10 bringing a fake gun to school. Now this school has had history in the past for many different stores that all revolve around crime. It was nothing new for police to have to come to that school. The only problem was ,was how many that actually came. They went all out and got the swat team ,negotiators ,and K9 unit and a good 15-20 police cars all lined up along the school . All the boy had on him was a pellet gun. But then again a weapon is a weapon and it was very wrong that he brought it with him. What i don't understand is why such a huge thing was started over this. On the news it said he was holding a student hostage and that there was a stabbing and all that. Nothing even close to that happened. The boy had his gun in the gym bag the whole time and had been spotted.  While i was watching it live the police finally revealed what had happened and that it was a pellet gun he was holding and that none of those events had even occurred. I don't understand why it took so long for the police to reply to the media to let us know whats going on. People had gotten worried for no reason. Many parents were probably shaken by the whole story that the news had given us which was a lie. Weird enough i was on my black berry going on twitter when i heard the incident. I even read something a friend of mine said which was about how he is in the portable that the police are surrounding and nothing is going on inside. Why did it take so long for the police to go in and get him. They had the school in lock down for 3 hours and were doing nothing. It just makes the Durham regional police squad look like a joke. The story of someone being murdered was never solved and justice was never served. But a student brings a pellet gun to school and doesn't even bring it out ,and the whole police academy comes to be the hero. What  A Joke!

Actors who has played the famous character batman has changed almost every single time a new movie was made. It started out with Lewis Wilson in 1943 and then went to Robert Lowery in 1949  . From there it was Adam West who began in 1966 . From 1966 to 1989 Adam west was the main face of Batman till it got to Micheal Keaton who played the first two films and Val Kilmer took the spot in 1995 . George Cloony took the spot in 1997. Eventually in 2005 Batman made a comeback with the best actor to play as  Batman which was Christan Bale. Christan Bale took batman to a whole other level .He made the batman franchise to a more daring and dark series. His acting skills are amazing and Batman suits him the best rather than anyone else. Unfortunately Batman is a children's hero as well and allot of kids look up to batman. So when they see Christan Bale they see him as being the real Batman. Christan Bale took a turn in his career when he was arrested for abuse towards his mother and sister and then fought the director of photography while playing for Terminator Salvation.Children were exposed to seeing their Batman go bad. He went from the good guy behind the cape to a real bad guy in real life. Christan Bale needs to clean up his act if he is going to keep his spot as batman. All the other actors who played Batman were not really much in the headlines for bad that they had done. Christan Bale is a role model to many kids because more children are going to see the Batman movies than anyone else.

The Amazing Spiderman

The new Director and Actor Of SpiderMan

Back in 2002 fans were going insane lining up for the new Spiderman movie that was coming to theaters. No matter where you go you will never find someone who has not seen the first spiderman movie. It was also the best one out of the series of spiderman movies that came out. Some people say that the second movie was one of the best  but i personally don't think so. The director Sam Rami took the movie to personally and made the movie the way he read the comics back when he was a kid. That is probably why the 3rd one was such a mess. Luckily for all the real comic fans a new director has taken over the franchise and is totally rebooting the whole spiderman look. There will be a new Peter Parker and Mary Jane and everything. Also the story will start all the way from the start from when spiderman was a teenager. The new role of Peter Parker will be played by Andrew Parker who had also played Mark Zuckerburgs best friend in the Social Network. I hope this new director will make these movies alto better than Sam Rami did and make the movies allot more realistic and not CGI almost every single scene in the movie.

Another American Hero

 The other day i was on one of my favourite sites to go on to see about new movies coming out (JoBlo) in the near future. I was just looking at mainly comic book movies and then i realized something ,why are all comic book hero's almost all white American males. As children we grew up worshipping these hero's but they were all one race and from one country. Now I'm not a racist or anything but i kind of hit me in a weird sense because now that i think of it when i do see a comic hero who is colored i think that its not right. Its because Ive been so used to it. My background is Persian and the closest hero we probably had to relate to was prince of Persia (which i didn't even know about till i was like 12) or Aladdin and hes not even a action hero really. It made me think we really got so attached to our hero's being the same that any other race dose not seem right to be a hero. Recently they are trying to add in more colored characters to the comic book world. A good example is green lantern if you watch the newly made cartoons he is now African American. Even Nick Fury will be African American (Samuel.L.Jackson) in the new Avengers movie coming out soon.  But this was back when i was growing up luckily allot has changed in cartoons and hero's if you watch new children's TV shows its full of multicultural hero's from different countries around the world. Its better to see this kind of things happening it creates less racism in the world. I have heard the argument many times of comic hero's and how they should be white and i personally don't think that it should be true. These new shows and comics will make for a better world to even live in. Which in the end is what real hero's are there to do!

 Social Network was a pretty good movie that just came out into theaters. It allowed you to see how face book came about into this number one social network today. The movie itself was not bad in my opinion ,through the whole movie there was one thing i hated the most and that thing was Jesse Eisenberg. In the movie he represented the Creator of face book Mark Zuckerberg and i think that he did a horrible job. Not only did he talk to fast but he was just to much. I honestly did not understand half the things he was saying. It was like he was racing himself in some sort of way to see how fast he could talk. The whole movie i tried to pay close attention to it and eventually it just got annoying. The people who i went to see the movie with said they hated Jesse as well. 3 of the people i went with ended up falling asleep during the movie because it was just such horrible acting. It made me hate facebook even more than i do (because its the main reason my grades aren't at their highest). When i got home i was like wow they honestly should not of picked this guy to play him. The rest of the cast like Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfeild did a great job. I hated that guy so much that i made a call to my aunt in Los Angeles (who was actually the production assistant for the movie don't believe me here's the link http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1618121/) and just told her how much i hated him as an actor. I truly hope i don't end up seeing that guy in any other blockbuster movies because i think he really sucks and i wouldn't want another movie to go to waste!

I Just Dont Get It

 I understand that Johnny Depp is a very talented actor but personally i don't think he is that much of a good actor. His movies don't really wow me that much because i don't get him. I'm very confused by him and who he really is. He is one of those people who you can not ever tell his personality. Actors like Will Farrell and Jim Carrey's personality easily stand out ,you can tell in real life that they are actually funny people. Johnny Depp has many different personalities , you wouldn't be able to say if hes funny ,outgoing , cheerful or any of that. In his movies he plays many different characters with different personalities. Movies like Edwards Sciccorhands ,in that movie he is more of a serious role . Or as captain Jack Sparrow where he  is more of a humorous person.Even in Willy Wonka he was really suspicious. I just don't understand whats going on with him. Even in his interviews he comes off very weird. I would like to see him in a normal day and see how his life really is like.

 When i was younger my favourite actor used to be Jim Carrey. I used to watch every single movie that he was ever in . Even if the movie was garbage i would watch it from the beginning to the end and think it was the greatest movie ever made. His career was at its best from 1994-2000 , those were the times when all his movies were huge block busters. I still remember the first movie i ever seen with him staring in it that made me think he was the greatest actor ever to live. That movie was Dumb and Dumber, i have seen that movie so many times that it would be impossible to count . I was young when i used to watch it so i wouldn't understand it at those times. But now when i recently watched it i thought to myself "wow what really happened to this guy?"  I went up and looked up a few movies he was in recently and in my opinion they were all crap movies. Before he was releasing huge block busters that were mainly comedy ,but in recent times he has played more mature roles like "Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind". A movie like that changed my idea of him totally he went from funny to just weird. In 2009 he released a new movie called "I love You Philip Morris" i thought that would of been funny so i eventually found it and watched in on a family trip to Pennsylvania. I got through 45 minutes of the movie and i had to turn it off. I found it so disturbing to see my favourite star from when i was a child backshotting another man. Not saying there is a problem with Gays but i never would of thought he would of been in a movie so explicit. It looks like his career is slowly dieing , the old Jim will never be back all i have left is to watch the old movies from when he was an actual FUNNY actor.

Will Ferrel

 Without any question i would say that Will Ferrell is easily one of the funniest actors of all time. He has been in so many movies that have all been huge block busters. His style of comedy feels so real when you are watching it you cant help but laugh.  I would say its his sarcasm and his facial expressions and the way he over acts everything is what makes him so great. My all time favourite movie with him staring in it would definitely have to be  Talladega Nights : The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby . I Have seen that movie a number of times and i literally cry almost every time i see it. The way he acts is not like any other ,everything is just more funny when its done by him. After he got his fame through SNL he had done a few cameos in certain movies. One of his funniest was Mustafa in Austin Powers International Man Of Mystery , i remember when i first seen that movie and it got me from there . His small role was so funny ,i even remember me and my cousin used to always act out that exact scene in the movie and never get tired of it. In order my favourite movies with him staring in them would be Talladega Nights ,Step Brothers , Elf , The Other Guys and the movie that really jump started his career A Night At The Roxburry. In my opinion i would say that there is no other actor that is as funny and as talented as  Will Ferrel he is truly one of a kind.

 The only shoe other than Nike or Jordan's that i would wear are supras. They are shoes that are more big in standing out. Their really big on your feet and not that expensive. In my personal collection i don't have many of them i only have two.Supra sky tops and the Supra Vader's and their both all white. The thing that's amazing about these shoes are the fact that i have literally thrown them in the washing machine 100 times and they still have managed to keep their shape and everything . At first i didn't really like the shoe but then seeing certain celebrities like Lil Wayne wearing them i began to like them a little bit more and more until i Finlay went out and purchased my own pair. Their also pretty decently priced for the shoe and their really a tough build. I bought mine from a local skate shop for only 100 2 years ago and the shoe's are still in decent condition considering the fact i wore them allot and their WHITE! The only other version of the supras i still want to purchase are the Terry Kennedy's which are shoes that literally go up half of your leg. Yes i know it seems a little weird and odd. But its something not many people have it would be cool just to see how they look . :)

My all time favourite shoe brand is known as NIKE SB. The SB stands for Skateboarding. But i don't skateboard at all. These shoes were first made for people who skate board but with their cool designs and comfortable shoes they turned into shoes for style. Nobody really even skateboards i Nike Sb's anyway the prices are way to high for someone to even want to do such a thing.  The price ranges anywhere from $120 to even up to $6000 and these are retail prices. With time each shoes price goes up more and more. An example the most expensive are Nike Sb Freddy Kugers ,Nike Sb What The Dunks ,Nike Sb Paris and Nike Sb Heineken's . All of those shoes are more then $500 to $5000 each and people will buy them. Sneaker heads around the world collect shoes and pay those high prices for them and don't even put their feat in them. Personally i wear all my shoes i don't really keep any on "ice" so they wouldn't get ruined. Nike Sb's are so popular because they base their shoes off events ,people or landmarks around the world. They have exotic colors that make them look real nice. My collection is not to big i only have a small amount of 20 but i plan on making it to 50 then stopping buying them. Another problem is where to buy them you cannot walk into champs or footlocker and pick up a pair. Nike only allows these shoes to be sold in certain stores around the world. Ordering online is also a problem because you never know if its real or fake unless you order from a  professional well known site. With that the shipping will usually rip a hole in your pockets so its sometimes better to buy from boutique stores downtown. In my collection i have a few that i really love there are the Bloody Gums ,Ms Pacmans ,Miss Piggy's ,Spider man ,Booms and New Castles. Those few are probably my top favourite. The only pair of Sb's I'm currently trying to get my hands are ,are the Marge Simpson's ,Homer Simpson's and Freddy Cougars. In time i shall own all :)

Personally i own over 30-40 rare shoes with are mostly of nikeSbs. But there is also another brand of shoe that i really like and its the Air Jordan Brand. Air Jordan is a brand that is under Nike's wing .It is also named after one of the greatest basketball players of all time. The shoes are one of the best selling sports shoe of all time. Not only do people wear them to play basketball but now they are more of a shoe for style. That is why i buy them ,for the style of course. I don't have to many shoes from Jordan only a couple. The two main ones  i love to death that i own are the Jordan 5 Green Beans and also Jordan 5 Fire Reds . The Jordan brand is a brand that is high in demand so when shoes get released people go crazy for them. People all the time get robbed for their shoes only because the shoes price can range anywhere from $99 to $2000. People will spend money on them . I am one of those people. My most expensive Jordan shoe would probably be the Fire Reds. But they are not way to expensive you can find them REAL for roughly around 200-250 which isn't way to much compared to other shoes. On my list of shoes to get from Jordan is the Jordan Space Jams. The shoe is named after the 1996 movie and also it was the shoe he wore in his season in 1995-1996 where the whole season he wore the Jordan 11 space jams and had a good run that season of 72-10.  When the Space Jams were re released in 2009 line ups were around all stores. They were sold out almost everywhere you went. To this day you still cannot find them. They were a very limited release. I'm still trying to get my pair!!

Desktop VS Laptop

 Back then it was usual for every single house hold to own a desktop computer with the whole monitor and tower and keyboard and what not. Slowly came around the laptop. Its a smaller desktop with all the pieces put together in one. Laptops are more faster , cheaper ,and take up literally less than half the room a desktop does.  Personally in my house i own both a laptop and a desktop. I can truly say that the laptop beats the desktop by far. I think with how technology is going in about 5 years there wont be such a thing as a desktop. Everywhere you go laptops are selling like mad and they are just getting better than ever. But the reason i say there wont be desktops as well is because everything is getting smaller. People want items that are small ,sleek and handheld. A laptop you can take with you anywhere and do your work at any given time. Desktop you must wait till you get home and let it load up and just stay in place till your work is done. With a laptop you can get the work done fast and get on with your life no matter where you are. Another advantage is you don't need to buy a  monitor ,keyboard ,mouse ,or tower its all built into one area.  If you see major companies that sell the best are the ones who have handheld items or pocket computers. A perfect example is apple everything keeps on getting smaller and smaller for them and their making money through the roof. So it goes to show that laptops will soon be the #1 computer out there.

Ipod Touch

 One of my favourite items that i own is my Ipod Touch. Other then itunes i don't see any problems with it. It is literally the best handheld item out on the market. When ever your waiting for a bus or a movie to start you can just play a game on it to kill the time. Or check facebook,twitter and all that. Another great thing about it is the fact that it can be jail broken. My old ipod was but it was then broken and stolen :(. But i recently purchased a new 3rd gen ipod touch and still haven't jail broken it. All the games have been legally bought on this :) These ipods are getting more and more hi tech which is a great thing. The newer ipod touches will now be coming with a installed camera in it so you can take pictures. As soon as their able to get wifi on them for free it will be perfect. Other than my huge addiction to shoes and blackberry's i would say the ipod touches come 3rd place for my top things i love. The fact that i can play movies and TV shows clearly on it where ever i go excites me. Sometimes when your going for a long drive its good to just upload a movie on it and watch it while on the long drive. Its a pretty good thing to have around. Its small and very light and it dose not take up much space in your pocket so you can basically have it where ever you go. In the end i would like to say Ipod touches are hands down one of the best creations apple ever made.

Blackberry Bold 9700 Current One I Own

This past summer i traded in my old crappy keybo for this new phones known as the Blackberry. At first i was totally amazed by it. With all its cool features like GPS ,face book,Internet .twitter and all that i wanted to have it right away. Slowly the phone became a part of my life. It was like it has taken me over. I cannot go a day without checking my phone or bbming and what not. The only problem is the phone is beginning to really SUCK! Even though they have so many cool features and gadgets within them their operating system and service is horrible. Literally everything freezes from calls ,camera, videos ,bbm ,texts all of that. I have been through two phones already within my first 2 months of owning a blackberry. My keybo i had for about 3 years and not once did  i have a problem with it. These blackberry's are very high maintenance and the problems just come in one after another. It really is addicting which makes the term "Crack berry" true. I just don't understand how these problems still are never resolved. RIM has one of the highest selling phones on the market right now. The need to literally get their "research in motion "and start finding new ways to fix all these bugs. If i knew i would have all these problems i would never of bought this phones and singed that stupid 3 year contract. The only problem also is that i now wont settle for any other phone other than a blackberry. In my opinion its the bbm that keeps people so stuck to it. So please RIM get to working and fix all these stupid little mistakes that shouldn't be within the phone. People pay top dollars for these phones so they should be getting the best service out there!
